Lenovo showed two new laptop concepts at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday. The first is the ThinkBook Flip AI, which has an 18-inch foldable screen that can be used in multiple ways—but when fully unfolded, it is an 18-inch display. When folded horizontally, it creates two screens—one on the front and one on the back. When folded flat, it transforms into a tablet-like device.
This design is similar to the foldable display technology currently used in smartphones, but it is applied to a larger, laptop-sized screen.
Lenovo's other new concept is the Yoga Solar PC, which has solar panels on the back of the device to extend battery life. According to Lenovo, these panels can absorb ambient light from surroundings and provide an extra hour of use after an eight-hour workday.
The concept device is 15 mm thick and weighs 1.22kg. It has a 14-inch OLED display, an Intel Lunar Lake processor, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage.
These prototypes are not yet commercially available. But Lenovo has a history of turning concept devices into commercial products. For instance, the company previously showcased a rollable laptop concept, which, as reported by CNBC, is scheduled for release this year.
